Welcome to wirralbiz online, your number one resource for new business in Wirral. wirralbiz is a business advisory and support service aimed at people wanting to start up in business in Wirral. You need a winning team on your side to succeed and the advice from wirralbiz is not only first class, it is FREE*! Since its creation in August 2005, wirralbiz has enabled in excess of 1149 new Wirral businesses to start up successfully, with many dozens more in the process of doing so. The core objective of the wirralbiz Programme is to provide support for the creation of sustainable new businesses. Research, from others and wirralbiz, provides irrefutable evidence that businesses started by people who have attended training and written a comprehensive Business Plan move into comfortable profitability faster than those who do not have any pre-start business planning. It is for this real reason that we require grant applicants to participate in all stages of the wirralbiz programme. The first stage is the wirralbiz Awareness Session. Lasting three hours these sessions are held at least once a month, either daytime (10am – 1pm) or in the evening (6.30pm – 9.30pm).The aim of the Awareness Session is to provide an overview of the planning process involved in setting up a successful business. Also covered are some of the important legal requirements which must be observed as well as possible sources for business funding and the criteria requirements for a wirralbiz Grant. Those who feel that now is the right time for self-employment continue onto a series of six session 3 hour seminars. These are held two days/evenings a week for three consecutive weeks. As can be seen the entire training duration, from the Awareness Session to Session 6, is completed within one calendar month. Each participant decides the pace at which they start their business. At the end of training each individual will be able (maybe with the help of a wirralbiz advisor) to write their own unique Business Plan that shows their business has real sustainability potential. The Business Plan should then be sent to wirralbiz preferably via our online contact page or by post or hand, whichever is the most convenient. Once an advisor has had the opportunity to study the Business Plan, a mutually agreed meeting will be arranged. At that meeting the new business will be discussed. If the advisor believes that the plan provides evidence of solid sustainability potential and other criteria has been fulfilled the necessary paperwork is completed to enable the appropriate grant to be issued. All grants can only be paid into a business bank account in the new businesses name. To avoid payment delay it is important that the bank account details are available at the time of the business plan assessment. Should an advisor consider that important elements are missing from the Business Plan or that they are not covered in sufficient detail, the grant applicant will be requested to supply that information and make another appointment when the revised plan has been completed. Everybody at wirralbiz is pro-active and will provide whatever support and encouragement that is needed. However, because the watchword is ‘sustainability’ and our years of experience proves the point, the better thought-out and prepared the business plan the more successful the new business will be.
